Mr. Pattillo's Reading Class
Introduction: The students will be reading, analyzing, reciting, and hopefully enjoying poetry this year! Here is a list of the poems we will be studying during the first 6 weeks:
September 6th: "Hope is the Thing with Feathers" by Emily Dickinson
September 12th: "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost
September 19th: "Who Has Seen the Wind?" by Christina Rosetti
September 26th: "Since Feeling is First" by e.e. cummings
Current Novel: "Freak the Mighty" by Rodman Philbrick.
This realistic fiction novel is about two boys who form an unlikely, yet powerful friendship. It's one of my favorites of all time, and I highly recommend it to readers of all ages (parents included).
